Forty years ago, in 1979, GFA was started. Each year we've had a singular focus—to take the love of Christ to people who have never heard His name before.
Our founder K.P. Yohannan shares, "At the age of 16, I remember standing in cities and village streets across India, sharing about the Lord's mercies with anyone who would listen.
"Then, when I was barely 29, my wife Gisela and I felt the call of God to support native workers who were doing what I had been doing. With the support and prayers from the Body of Christ, we simply obeyed, and GFA was born.
"Since then, through Bridge of Hope we've seen over 70,000 children rescued from the streets and enrolled in school. We've seen hundreds of women rescued from red-light districts and we've seen radio broadcasting in 110 languages listened to by multiplied millions of people hearing there is hope for healing.
"I must say this to you: Without your prayers and without your help, I don't think any of these things could have been possible."
GFA World is dedicated to the most effective and efficient stewardship of resources, according to 1 Corinthians 3:12-14. Contributions to GFA are income tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. All gift options represent GFA's actual ministry efforts to meet the diverse needs of individuals and communities. GFA World seeks to use contributions raised for a particular ministry in furtherance of that charitable objective, but retains control and discretion over all donated funds to further its overall charitable objectives.
